We are excited to announce Kacy Idso as division manager at our wood processing plant in Buhl!
While at our core we are a nonprofit organization that specializes in offering employment training and support for individuals with disabilities, we also have over 40 years of experience in custom manufacturing, wood processing, cardboard and metal production, industrial sewing and more—which is where Kacy’s expertise comes in.
Kacy has a broad background in wood products and production management along with a strong understanding of lean manufacturing principles and procedures. He also holds certification in CAD and has 20 years of service as a volunteer firefighter.
“I am eager to look into new products and improving the products and processes we have in place,” said Idso. “There is a huge potential here … I love working with wood and have seen a lot of potential to improve production here—I have a knack for that!”
Idso looks forward to building new relationships and seeing his ideas for improvements come to fruition.
“We are very excited to have Kacy join the ODC family!” said Lane Young, Vice President of Business Development and Operations. “Kacy has an extensive background in manufacturing management and safety training; his leadership experience will be an excellent addition to our Buhl operation.”
Idso, who is originally from southwestern Minnesota, started his new position earlier this month. When asked what brought him to the Iron Range, Idso said he met his fiancee while running a 5K race in the area, adding that they “both love the outdoors and this is the place for that!”
Kacy, we are thrilled to have you at the helm in Buhl—welcome!
