ODC to Host Open House and Ribbon Cutting in Grand Rapids, MN

The Occupational Development Center (ODC) will host a community open house and ribbon cutting ceremony on May 26 at its Grand Rapids location in partnership with the Grand Rapids Area Chamber of Commerce. The event will give community members, employers, and local leaders the opportunity to learn more about ODC’s programs and the services available to individuals with disabilities in the region.

The open house is part of ODC’s broader effort to reconnect with the Grand Rapids community and increase awareness about the organization’s employment and day support services.

“We want people to see what we do and understand the opportunities that exist for individuals with disabilities in our community,” said Mary Gibson, who oversees regional operations for ODC. “This open house is a chance for residents, employers, and community partners to come inside, meet our staff, and learn how we help people succeed.”

During the event, visitors will be able to tour the ODC facility, meet members of the local team, and learn about the programs designed to support individuals with disabilities in developing job skills, building independence, and finding meaningful employment.

ODC’s Employment Support Services connect individuals with disabilities to local employers and provide ongoing support to help ensure successful workplace placements. The organization also provides Day Support Services, offering individuals opportunities to build skills, participate in community activities, and strengthen social connections.

The open house will also highlight the work of ODC’s local team, including Employment Services Consultant Michael Gray, who works closely with employers and individuals seeking meaningful employment opportunities.

“Grand Rapids has a strong business community and many employers who are committed to inclusion,” Gibson said. “We look forward to building new partnerships that help individuals discover their potential and contribute to the local workforce.”

The ribbon cutting ceremony with the Grand Rapids Chamber of Commerce will formally celebrate ODC’s continued presence in the community and its commitment to expanding opportunities for individuals with disabilities.
