Appointee aims to share expertise and learn more about the effect ODC has in the communities we serve.
We are delighted to welcome Amy Ballard as a member of our board!
Ballard is the Director of Lake of the Woods County Social Services. She brings to the board her expertise and insight acquired from working within county government agencies.
In the past, Ballard has worked as a county social worker and social services supervisor, giving her valuable experience not only working with various contracts and budgets but also working with ODC from an outside position. In her current position as director, she is able to provide some administrative experience to the board as well.
Her prior experience with ODC is what initially drew Ballard to the position. As a social services employee, she has been working with staff and persons served from the Baudette ODC division for years.
“I was always impressed with the success of the program and how everyone was so proud to be involved with ODC as an employee, a host job site or person served,” said Ballard.
Lutheran Social Services (LSS) Meals is one of the work sites for our Baudette location. Being a member of the LSS Meals nutrition board enables Ballard to occasionally work side by side with persons served while they are doing meal prep, Meals on Wheels, and clean up.
In her first year on the board, Ballard looks forward to learning about the inner workings of ODC and has already noticed the dedication and passion from our staff.
After her first board meeting, she realized there is so much more to the organization than what she had seen in her community.
