We are very happy to recognize the achievements of one of our persons served!
During Food Service Week in early October, ODC client Karen was recognized for her hard work and dedication with a plaque from Havenwood Care Center in Bemidji. The plaque—which reads “Success begins with Karen – You are the KEY to our success! Thank you for striving for excellence!”—caused a teary-eyed Karen to exclaim, “This is the neatest thing to ever happen to me!”
Karen started with the Occupational Development Center in January of 2002. That February she was hired at Havenwood Care Center as a Unit Aide working with the ODC enclave. After working elsewhere for a brief period from 2011-2012, Karen chose to return to the Havenwood enclave where she stated, “I’m familiar with the enclave position and feel comfortable working here.”
In addition to her Unit Aide duties, Karen delivers personal supplies to the residents, cleans and sanitizes wheelchairs, and works in the dietary department preparing beverages for upcoming meals and delivering water to the residents’ rooms. She presently works two days per week independently in the beverage position, and one day per week continuing her work with the ODC enclave.
Congratulations on over 15 years of top-notch service, Karen—keep up the good work!
